DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1

Upon morning arrival at Kittilä Airport, you’ll be greeted by your guide and taken for a welcome lunch and briefing at Levi Ski Resort. After a stop at a local supermarket for last-minute snack supplies, you’ll head to the expedition starting point.

Following gear prep and packing, the journey begins with skiing into the wilderness. Along the way, you’ll pause at a cozy teepee for hot drinks and snacks, then continue to your first campsite in a valley cabin (shared bunk beds, 12 people). After dinner prep, those wanting more adventure can explore the valley by snowshoe under the stars, with a chance of seeing the Northern Lights.

DAY 2

Rise early to catch the sunrise over the National Park and fuel up with a hearty breakfast. An optional ski tour will take you, sled-free, to the summit of a nearby fjell for panoramic views of the park.

If you prefer a relaxed day, you can stay back and enjoy cabin life until lunch. In the afternoon, your guide will show you how to build a wilderness kitchen in the snow, where you’ll enjoy dinner under the stars—with a chance to see the Northern Lights.

DAY 3

Today will be the longest hike of the expedition so it is important to have a big breakfast with plenty of energy. You will start your hike early in the morning and cross a reindeer fence by midday. Later on you will arrive at another teepee where you will make a fire and enjoy your camp lunch together with hot drinks.

You will arrive at your next camp late in the evening. Dinner will be cooked together with your guide as always. Night will be spent in another basic wilderness cabin with 12 beds in bunk beds.

DAY 4

Today is full of possibilities. Maybe you would like to refuel your batteries and just relax at the accommodation? Or perhaps you would like to explore the surroundings of the cabin on your own? A third option is to join your guide on a day tour. It is such a joy to ski at a relaxed speed just with a backpack and stop every now and then to admire nature. Remember to take your camera with you!

In the evening you can reward yourself by relaxing in the real wood heated wilderness sauna where you can sit quietly or connect with other like minded hikers and wash your worries away. After enjoying your dinner you will sleep like a baby in the warmth of your sleeping bag in your bunk bed.

DAY 5

Your final expedition day starts after a big breakfast and will take you to another part of the National Park. You will be enjoying a long downhill and after you have reached the valley you will soon enter another teepee to enjoy your final camp lunch by open fire.

In the afternoon you will return to the starting point where it all started and do some gear maintenance. Soon you will be transported to Levi village where you will have farewell dinner together with your guides.

Later in the evening you will have a chance to explore this admiring little village on your own. You can do some souvenir shopping if you like or maybe you would like to have a drink in one of the cozy bars in the village.

DAY 6

We like to say a great adventure never ends, it merely changes form to become part of who you are. On day six your skiing expedition in the Finnish Lapland will transform into some of your best memories as you will be transported to Kittilä airport to catch your return flight.
